November 2024 Spotlight Golfer
Mark Morache

Born and raised in a city southwest of Los Angeles called Manhattan Beach. Surfing and skateboarding were a priority, and the beach was always there. Played a lot of beach volleyball and was pretty good up through high school. Didn’t start playing golf until I was about 16, a friend of my mother’s was a golfer, and he took me under his wing and taught me to play. I was hooked and I never looked back. I’ve been fortunate to have played some of the greatest golf courses in the world like Pebble Beach (all the Monterey Peninsula course), the Olympic Club, PGA West, Bermuda Dunes to name a few.

After high school I went to Junior College, but I wasn’t much interested in schooling. It seemed like there were way more fun things to do at that time. So, I started working in the construction industry and 42 years later I’m still doing it. I started out in the trades and eventually figured out a way to be in the office instead of the field. I specialize in software called Primavera, which is a scheduling software for manufacturing and construction. Not too many people know how to do it and the ones that do, don’t do it as well as me.

I met my wife, Christina in the late 90s, we dated on and off for 10 years prior to getting married in 2000. We had about 100 people down in Cabo San Lucas and needless to say it was an amazing week. In 2011 we moved to the San Francisco Bay area, Redwood City. Lived there for 11 years prior to moving Florida (it was time to GTFO of California) and now you’re all stuck with me.

In closing I would like to say that I’ve been having a great time here at Grand Haven and with the MGA, Friday and Saturday groups, and you’ve all made me feel welcome. That said, PLAY FASTER…

Sincerely, Your Golf Buddy,

Mark Morache
